Major dental is where the planning pays
Most of what our HCF patients claim here sits in the major dental category — crowns, implants, bridges and veneers. That part of extras cover usually carries longer waiting periods and a separate annual limit from general dental.
Two things follow from that, and both are worth knowing before you start:
Check your limit before the plan, not after. If a plan runs to several crowns, you may get materially more back by starting late in one benefit year and finishing early in the next. That is a sequencing decision, and it only works if it is made at the beginning.
Waiting periods apply to the treatment, not the appointment. If you have recently changed cover or upgraded, tell us at the planning visit so we can build the sequence around it.
We will set the plan out in stages with costs attached and let you decide the timing.
What we treat
Dental implants, crowns and bridges, porcelain and composite veneers, whitening, root canal treatment, wisdom teeth, gum disease treatment, and preventive care.
Claiming
Through the terminal at the end of your appointment. For anything beyond a check-up you get an itemised written quote with item numbers first.
Treatment carries risks as well as benefits and the right option depends on your circumstances — we go through the alternatives before anything is booked.

FAQ
Do you accept HCF at Campbelltown? Yes. We see HCF members at Suite 1, 530 Lower North East Rd, Campbelltown and claim through the terminal at the end of your appointment. Call 08 8102 0951.
What counts as major dental? Major dental generally covers crowns, bridges, implants, veneers and some surgical procedures. It usually sits under a separate annual limit from general dental and carries longer waiting periods.
Can I split treatment across two years to get more back? Often yes. If a plan runs to several crowns or implants, starting late in one benefit year and finishing early in the next can mean a materially higher total benefit. It only works if the sequencing is decided at the start, so raise it at the planning appointment.
How do waiting periods work for major dental? Waiting periods apply to the treatment, not to the appointment. If you have recently joined, changed or upgraded your cover, tell us at the planning visit so we can build the treatment sequence around when your cover becomes available.
