Cosmetic Dentistry in Campbelltown, Adelaide
At Aesthetica Dental Studio we plan cosmetic treatment around your own teeth, your face and what you'd like to change. We'll explain what each option involves, what it can and can't change, and what it will cost, in writing, before anything starts.
Teeth Whitening
Teeth whitening, or bleaching, lightens the shade of natural teeth. How much the shade changes depends on the cause of the discolouration, and we'll give you a realistic idea at your assessment. Whitening doesn't change the colour of fillings, crowns or veneers. Read more about teeth whitening at our Campbelltown studio.

Direct Bonding
Dental bonding repairs chips, closes small gaps and reshapes teeth using composite resin, shaded to match the teeth around it and set with a curing light. It's usually done in one visit, and it can often be adjusted or repaired later. Bonding uses the same composite material as composite veneers, which we compare with porcelain on our dental veneers page

Skin analysis and personalised facial treatments
Every person's skin is different, so we start with an assessment and build a plan from there. More on our skin treatments page.

Dental Veneers
Veneers are thin porcelain or composite restorations bonded to the front of teeth, used to change the shape, colour or alignment of teeth that are chipped, worn or unevenly positioned. Porcelain veneers usually involve removing a small amount of enamel, which can't be reversed, so we go through the alternatives with you first. Compare the two types on our dental veneers page.

Dental Implants
Dental implants replace the root of a missing tooth and can support a single crown, a bridge or a denture. Treatment is planned in stages and isn't suitable for everyone. There's more on our dental implants page, and on what determines the cost.

Facial aesthetic consultations
Facial aesthetic treatment is assessed and planned at a consultation with our registered cosmetic nurse, who will go through what is suitable for you, what it involves and what it cannot do. Australian advertising rules limit what we can publish online about some of these treatments, so please ask us in person or by phone.

Which treatment suits me?
Most people arrive wanting one of three things: whiter teeth, a chip or gap repaired, or a change to the shape of several front teeth. Those are three different treatments, and the least invasive one that will do the job is the right place to start.
If you are not sure what you need, that is what the first appointment is for. We look at the teeth, the gums and the bite, and tell you which options are realistic for your teeth rather than starting from a treatment. Read more about teeth whitening, veneers or direct bonding and composite.
What does cosmetic dentistry cost?
There is no single figure, because "cosmetic dentistry" covers treatments that differ by an order of magnitude, and because two people wanting the same treatment can need very different work first. What moves a quote most is which treatment you choose, how many teeth are involved, whether existing fillings or crowns need replacing to match, and whether anything needs treating before cosmetic work can start.
You receive an itemised written quote with dental item numbers after your assessment, before anything is booked. That lets your health fund tell you exactly what it contributes rather than leaving you to guess.
For the detail on the two treatments people ask about most, see what determines a veneers quote and what determines an implant quote. Some funds contribute to some cosmetic treatment, depending on your level of cover — our health funds page sets out how claiming works here.

FAQs
What does cosmetic dentistry include? Cosmetic dentistry covers treatment chosen mainly to change how teeth look: teeth whitening, direct composite bonding, porcelain and composite veneers, and crowns. We also replace missing teeth with implants, which is both functional and cosmetic. What suits you depends on your teeth, your gums, your bite and what you want to change.
Do health funds cover cosmetic dentistry? Some funds contribute to some treatments, depending on your level of extras cover and your remaining annual limits. Funds treat whitening and veneers differently from one another, and purely cosmetic work is sometimes excluded altogether. Your written quote includes item numbers so your fund can tell you what it rebates before you commit.
Which treatment suits me, whitening, bonding or veneers? As a rule, whitening changes colour only, bonding changes small shapes and gaps, and veneers change colour, shape and apparent position together. Whitening removes no tooth structure, bonding usually removes little or none, and porcelain veneers need enamel removed permanently. We start from the least invasive option that will do the job.
How long does cosmetic dental work last? It varies between people and between treatments. Whitening fades and is topped up over time. Composite bonding and composite veneers commonly need repair or replacement sooner than porcelain. Porcelain veneers and crowns commonly last around ten to fifteen years, depending on your bite, your cleaning and whether you grind your teeth. Results vary from person to person.
What does cosmetic dental treatment cost? It depends on which treatment you choose, how many teeth are involved and whether anything needs treating first. We do not publish set fees, because a quote depends on an assessment. You receive an itemised written quote with dental item numbers before anything is booked, so you can check your rebate with your fund.
Can I change just one tooth? Often, yes. A single chipped or discoloured tooth can sometimes be treated on its own with bonding or a single veneer. Matching one tooth to the teeth around it is harder than treating several together, so we assess the shade and shape first and tell you honestly whether a single-tooth result will look right.
