Dental Care for DVA Gold Card Holders in Campbelltown

We treat DVA Gold Card holders at our Campbelltown studio. If your treatment is covered by DVA, there is nothing for you to pay — not a gap, not a co-payment, not a top-up. We bill the Department directly and accept the DVA fee as full payment for that treatment.

What your card covers

Gold Card. DVA funds a range of dental services necessary to meet your clinical need. In practice that is the everyday work that keeps teeth functioning and comfortable: examinations, cleans, fillings, extractions, root canal treatment, dentures and denture repairs, and crowns where there is a clinical reason for one.

White Card. We do not see White Card holders under DVA arrangements at this practice.

Being honest about what DVA does not cover

Aesthetica is a practice known for cosmetic work, so it is worth being direct: DVA funds treatment for clinical need, not appearance. Veneers, cosmetic whitening and elective smile design are not DVA-funded, whoever provides them.

If you hold a Veteran Card and want cosmetic treatment, you are very welcome here — but it would be a private treatment plan quoted separately, and we will say so plainly rather than let you discover it at the desk. Equally, if you came in for something cosmetic and what you actually need is restorative work your card covers, we will tell you that too.

Some treatment needs approval first

A number of dental services require prior financial approval from DVA before they can be provided. Where your treatment falls into that category, we contact the Department and obtain approval before we begin — you do not have to arrange it, and you should not be asked to pay while it is sorted out.

It does mean some treatment takes a little longer to start than it would privately. We will tell you at the planning appointment if that applies to you, and roughly how long.

Risks, as with any dental treatment

Any treatment carries risks as well as benefits, and which treatment suits you depends on your own circumstances, your medical history and the medicines you take. We go through the alternatives and the risks with you before anything is booked. Being DVA-funded does not change that conversation — it is the same discussion every patient gets.
