We will give you the reasoning, not the pitch
Our patients from the medical community tend to want the same thing: the evidence, the alternatives, the failure modes, and an honest read on what is likely rather than what is possible. That suits how this practice works.
So when we propose treatment you will get the diagnosis and what it rests on, the realistic alternatives including doing nothing for now, the known risks and how often they occur, the expected service life of any restoration and what shortens it, and an itemised written quote. If a more conservative option would serve you as well, we will say so — composite bonding instead of veneers, or orthodontics before either, where that is the better answer.
You are welcome to ask for the radiographs and the photographs. Most people do not; you might.
The treatments our Doctors' Health patients most often claim
Because it is the treatment we are asked about most: preparing a tooth for a conventional porcelain veneer usually means removing a layer of enamel, and that is irreversible — a prepared tooth will need a veneer or crown for the rest of its life. Veneers can also chip or debond, particularly in people who grind, and they need replacing eventually. We go through all of that properly before anything is booked. Our veneers page sets out the detail.

Claiming
We claim on the spot through the terminal. What you get back depends on your cover and your remaining limit, so we will quote itemised and let you check it against your own policy rather than guess for you.

FAQ
Can Doctors' Health Fund members choose any dentist? Yes. Doctors' Health Fund does not operate a preferred provider network, so you choose your dentist and your benefit is unaffected.
Who can join Doctors' Health Fund? Doctors' Health Fund is a restricted fund for members of the medical community, which in practice includes doctors, medical students and their families.
What will I get back on veneers or crowns? That depends on your level of cover, your waiting periods and how much of your annual limit remains, so we will not quote you a figure. You receive an itemised written quote with the item numbers before treatment, which you can check against your own policy.
Do you provide a written treatment plan before starting? Yes. You get the diagnosis and what it rests on, the realistic alternatives including watching and waiting, the known risks and roughly how often they occur, the expected service life of any restoration, and an itemised quote. You are welcome to ask for the radiographs and photographs.
